P1TS

P1TS is real-time race strategy software for North American professional sportscar racing - IMSA, SRO, and USAC. It turns live timing data into the standings, gaps, pace, and race-control information that engineers, drivers, coaches, and crew use to make strategy calls during a session.

AKS V2​

P1TS's timing source is AKS V2, Al Kamel Systems's modern timing protocol. Compared to the legacy ERMon pitwall feed it's replacing, V2 adds:

  • Network disruption resiliency - no data loss even when networks are unstable
  • Authoritative (vs. calculated) times - official drive, pit lane, and sector times from the timing system itself, not derived locally
  • Micro sector times and speed data, where available, for finer lap comparisons
  • Smart race control - semantic parsing of race control messages, with hero/sister car highlighting
  • Higher fidelity track positioning, where available

IMSA's legacy ERMon protocol sunsets after the 2026 season; 2027 is V2-only. SRO and USAC already run on V2.
