Deployment

P1TS runs in two ways - see Compare for how they stack up side by side. This page covers how each is actually deployed and accessed.

P1TS Cloud

Each team or series gets a dedicated, hosted P1TS server at its own URL - for example sro.p1ts.com, usac.p1ts.com. There's nothing to install: open the URL in Chrome, log in, and you're connected to a live AKS V2 feed. Software updates are applied automatically, with no action needed on your end.

Because it's internet-hosted, P1TS Cloud works from anywhere you have a connection - the pit stand, a team trailer, a spotter location, a hotel room, or the shop - on a laptop, tablet, phone, or smart TV.

P1TS IMSA Pitwall

For IMSA WeatherTech Championship teams, AKS V2 requires each team to connect using its own series-filtered V2 account, delivered over the pitwall LAN rather than the public internet - and pitwall internet (cellular or Starlink) isn't reliable enough to depend on for live timing. P1TS IMSA Pitwall addresses this: it runs as a standalone application on a Windows PC connected to the IMSA pitwall router, so the server and its AKS V2 connection stay on the local network rather than depending on an internet link.

The engineer's PC runs both the P1TS server and the web app in Chrome; other devices on the same pitwall LAN - a driver's tablet, a spotter's phone - can reach it as webapps clients over Wi-Fi. Because it's a standalone install, software updates are engineer-managed rather than automatic - you apply a new build between sessions or race weekends.

Which one to use

If your event and connectivity allow it, P1TS Cloud is the simplest option and needs nothing beyond a browser. P1TS IMSA Pitwall exists for IMSA WeatherTech Championship teams whose pitwall internet can't be relied on for a continuous live feed.
